This was my first attempt at live storytelling. At the November 2023 Texas Book Festival I met the Texas Public Radio team responsible for the Worth Repeatingbook and program. They challenged me to try out and 6 months later I was sharing a tale about the keys to a good friendship.

This documentary, released by Talos Films in 2026 on HBO Max and Investigation Discovery reveals insights into how a soapbox preacher's fire-and-brimstone view of religion influenced a Texas mother suffering from delusions brought on by postpartum psychosis, leading to the deaths of her five children.

June 20, 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the murders and the 20th anniversary of the beginning of the retrial. KHOU interviewed Andrea Yates’ attorney, George Parnham, me, and an expert on postpartum-related mental illness, Dr. Rosalyn G. Miller, an OB-GYN from the Houston Methodist Hospital System.
